To continue supporting the "Matto 4 Mod" for Far Cry, the MattoMedia team took some time and and released the first Patch 1.1. Next to a few bug fixes they also added the single shot as secondary fire mode to the Steyr to enhance the gameplay even more. Additionally the .cry-files for the Sandbox Editor are included as well. This should give any level designer the opportunity to see how the team set up their amazing levels. You can download the 48MB sized update from one of the links further below.

Finally it is done! The higly anticipated Multiplayer SSM (Server Side Mod) "eXcaliTrone v3 BETA RC1" is available for download. Like the name already says this is only a beta version. Meaning, all features are included and do work, but it is still being worked on a final version. Within the last few months the eXcaliTrone dev team has done a great work and created something really amazing. Next to a simplified server administration numerous new features have been added for the multiplayer part of Far Cry. They vary from an automatic map downloader to even multiplayer physics which many thought were not possible at all. Even a complete new game mode including lots of maps has been created and was implemented.
XTv3 consists of one part for servers (SSM) and of one part for players (clients). Only in this combination it is possible to use all the features this tool has to offer. Since the current installation is not done automatically it is absolutely necessary to read and follow the installation guidelines to the respective part (SSM and/or client). Endlich ist es soweit! Die lang ersehnte Multiplayer SSM (Server Side Mod) "eXcaliTrone v3 BETA RC1" steht zum Download bereit. Wie der Name schon sagt handelt es sich hierbei um eine Beta - d.h. alle Features sind enthalten und funktionieren auch. Dennoch wird weiterhin an einer finalen Version gearbeitet. In den letzten Monaten hat das eXcaliTrone Dev Team ganze Arbeit geleistet und wirklich etwas erstaunliches auf die Beine gestellt. Neben einer vereinfachten Serveradministration wurden zahllose Erneuerungen für den Multiplayer Part von Far Cry eingebaut. Diese reichen von einem automatischen Map-Downloader bis hin zur bis-dato nicht möglich gehaltenen Multiplayer Physik. Selbst ein komplett neuer Spielmodus inklusive vieler Maps wurde erstellt und hinzugefügt.
XTv3 besteht sowohl aus einem Teil für Server (SSM) als auch aus einem Teil für Spieler (Client). Nur in dieser Kombination ist es Möglich, alle Features die euch dieses Tool bietet auch zu nutzen. Da die momentane Installation nicht automatisch von statten geht, ist es dringend Erforderlich das ihr euch die Installationsanleitung zum jeweiligen Teil (Server und/oder Client) genauestens durch lest und befolgt. As speaking of news about the projects from Reptile Entertainment, the development team (including Shilka members) released a huge information and media footage package about their multiplayer mod "eXcaliTrone v3.0". Many admins of you may know eXcaliTrone already and have used the former version 2.0. Based on the community reaction on Patch 1.4 for Far Cry the team is anxious to offer an alternative that re-unites the gaming community and takes the Far Cry gameplay to a next level.
Overall the mod will introduce many new features (e.g. MP physics), improve lots of old features and functions and even fix a couple of bugs. But enough talking about this - see yourself what this very promising project has to offer... just cliock on the "READ MORE" link!

Um direkt beim Thema News über die Projekte von Reptile Entertainment zu bleiben - zusammen mit einigen Mitgliedern von Shilka hat das Entwicklungsteam ein riesiges Info-Update zu ihrer Multiplayer Mod "eXcaliTrone v3.0" veröffentlicht. Viele Admins kennen eXcaliTrone bereits und haben eventuell die vorherige Version 2.0 benutzt. Basierend auf den Reaktionen der Community über Patch 1.4, hat es sich das Team zur Aufgabe gemacht eine Alternative zu entwickeln, welche die Spielergemeinde wieder vereint und den Far Cry Multiplayer Part auf eine neue Ebene bringt.
Neben vielen neuen Features wie z.B. der lang ersehnten MP Physik bietet die Mod auch Verbesserungen von vorhanden Features und Funktionen. Auch werden einige Bugs behoben. Torque86 finally released his "Torque's Treepback v2.0". After some hdd problems which nearly killed all his work, you now can enjoy a whole bunch of new non tropical trees. The 2.7MB sized .zip file is designed especially for mappers who want to create everything but tropical levels :)

Von Torque86 steht endlich das "Torque's Treepack v2.0" zum Download bereit. Nach einem kleinen Festplattenproblem, dass fast seine komplette Arbeit zu nichte gemacht hat, könnt ihr euch nun an zahlreichen neuen nicht tropischen Bäumen erfreuen. Die 2.7MB große .zip-Datei ist vorallem für Level Designer interessant, die mal etwas anderes außer tropische Maps basteln wollen :)

The Far Cry ladder FCMP started a mapping contest a while ago. This contenst is over now and the winners have been chosen. For some of them it was the first multiplayer map every they have done for Far Cry. Based on these map a pack called "FCMP Map Pack v1.0" has been created. Overall there are 16 Assault and FFA/TDM maps available which all have different styles and designs. The size is about 154MB and it is definitely worth a try for all mp gamers :)

Für manche war es die erste Map überhaupt die sie in Far Cry erstellt haben. Basierend auf diesen Maps wurde ein Pack mit dem Namen "FCMP Map Pack v1.0" erstellt. Insgesamt sind 16 Assault und FFA/TDM Maps verfügbar, welche sich alle in ihrem Stil und dem Design unterscheiden. Die Größe der Packs liegt bei 154MB. Ausprobieren solltet ihr es auf jedenfall :)

Our community member pissdrunx1987 discovered an interesting singleplayer map on one CD of the last german magazine PC Games. It is called "Airfield" and a guy named Nessus is the designer of it. Well done cutscenes and nice indoor and outdoor areas are included. In good old Far Cry style you need to make your way through the level with lots of weaponry and fulfil the mission goals. Easy knitted but still fun to play! To install the map correctly you need to extract the .zip file into your Far CryLevels folder. To run the map, start Far Cry, open up the console and type in map Airfield (press TAB and ENTER).

Auf der CD der letzten Ausgabe des PC Games Magazins hat unser Community-Mitglied pissdrunx1987 eine interessante Singleplayer Map gefunden. Sie heißt "Airfield" und wurde von einem Mapper namens Nessus erstellt. Enthalten sind schön gemachte Cutscenes und nette Indoor und Outdoor Areas. In guter alter Far Cry Manier schlagt ihr euch mit allerlei Waffen durch das Level und löst so eure Missionsziele. Einfach gestrickt aber dennoch schön zu spielen! Um die Map korrekt zu installieren, müsst ihr die .zip-Datei einfach in euer Far CryLevels Ordner extrahieren. Starten könnt ihr die Map in dem ihr FC startet, die Konsole öffnet und dann map Airfield eingebt (TAB drücken + ENTER).

For all multiplayer fans there are two new and very interesting maps available which are definitely worth a download. The first is "mp_2v2_Matto" from C4Te. In cooperation with MattoMedia this 2v2 Assault map has been created. With its few new objects, the very good level design and the well known Matto flair this map is an eye-catcher! All Matto and MP fans should get the 16MB sized map.
The other multiplayer map has been created by spaceshoshi and is called "MP_Lenin". This map is held in a great looking urban style and you should have at least 10 more people to play it. New buildings and a very nice level design turn the 35MB sized map into a must-have. Originally created for the H.A.R.D. mod the map has been re-worked and a TDM map has been made out of it. Version 2.0 is in progress already which should include an additional train station.

Für alle Multiplayer Fans gibt es wieder hoch interessante Maps die auf jedenfall einen Download Wert sind. Zum einen handelt es sich um "mp_2v2_Matto" von C4Te. In Zusammenarbeit mit MattoMedia wurde diese 2v2 Assault Map erstellt. Gespickt mit neuen Objekten, einem tollen Level Design und dem üblichen Matto Flair ist diese Karte definitiv ein Hingucker! Alle Matto und MP Fans sollten sich den 16MB großen Download unbedingt antun.
Die nächste Multiplayer Map stammt von spacehoshi und nennt sich "MP_Lenin". Auf dieser riesigen Map im genialen Urban Stil ist es zu empfehlen mit mindestens 10 anderen Leuten zu spielen. Neue Gebäude und ein sehr interessantes Level Design machen die 35MB große Map zu einem absoluten Muss. Ursprünglich entwickelt für die H.A.R.D. Mod, wurde die Karte kurzerhand zur TDM-Version umgebastelt. Eine Version 2.0 ist bereits in Arbeit, welche zusätzlich noch einen kompletten Bahnhof beinhalten soll.

While the Ubisoft trial servers have been well populated and a number of cheats have been busted and added to the MBL, Server 1 was under used as an FFA server, so to make the most of the resource a team of administrators has decided to freshen things up. For the next few weeks it is going to showcase the best of the Custom Assault maps. The team around CuZ has each selected the personal favourites from 2½ years of custom mapping, then added a few honourable mentions. It has to be said that with so many amazing maps to choose from it was a difficult task to whittle them down, but those that made the 1st Map Cycle can be found further below.
Members of the Far Cry Community administer the Ubisoft European Trial Servers on Ubisoft’s behalf. They include robust PB configurations, they stream to the www.Punksbusted.com Master Ban list and a Game Admin is present at most times of the day. Custom mappers should make these their servers of choice for a cheat free, fun game. More details can be found in the Server Admin Section of the Ubisoft Far Cry forums.

Während die Ubisoft Trial Server sehr gut ankommen und auch einige Cheats entdeckt und zur MBL hinzugefügt wurden, wurde Server 1 weiterhin als FFA Server benutzt. Um die Kapazitäten allerdings vollends auszunutzen, hat ein Team von Administratoren sich dazu entschlossen die Ganze Sache etwas aufzufrischen. Für die kommenden Wochen werden die besten Custom Assault Maps auf dem Server gespielt. Das Team rund um CuZ hat die jeweils persönlichen Favouriten aus 2 1/2 Jahren Custom Mapping genommen und sie mit einigen wenigen auserwählten Maps kombiniert. Es war keine leichte Aufgabe aus dem riesigen Map-Pool die richtigen Maps auszusuchen, doch alle die es in den 1. Mapcycle geschafft haben findet ihr weiter unten in der Liste.

With a bit of support from the community Farmania released his "VW Golf V" in a new and probably final version. To give the car an even more realistic look bump and normal maps have been added next to specular mapping. Furthermore the vehicle script has been over-worked to have the car drive in a more realistic way. If you want to use this vehicle you shouldn't forget to mention Farmania in the credits.

Mit ein bisschen Hilfe von der Community hat Farmania seinen "VW Golf V" in einer neuen und voraussichtlich finalen Version veröffentlicht. Um das Auto noch realistischer wirken zu lassen wurde neben Bump und Normal Maps auch Specular Mapping verwendet. Auch das Vehikel-Script wurde überarbeitet, damit sich der Wagen jetzt realitätsnaher Fahren lässt. Wer das Fahrzeug verwenden möchte, soll bitte nicht vergessen Farmania in den Credits zu erwähnen.

For all soloists in the community there is a new very nice singleplayer campaign available. Its name is "Catalyst v1.2" and was created by "SkrIpT". Packed up in a 32MB sized Mod you can play through 7 maps which are all lovingly connected by cutscenes that explain the exciting story. First of all you have to free yourself out of a mercenary prison but that's only the beginning of everything. Next to mutants and mercs the player can expect action loaded fights in desert regions, indoor areas, jungle sections and even a mysterious spaceship needs to be destroyed. A new map pack has made it into the world of Far Cry. At this time it is from our friends from down under and thus has the name "Australian Map Pack". No kangaroos or wild animals will face you on these maps, but nice locations and well balanced capture points are awaiting you. Overall 7 Assault and 5 FFA maps are included in the 47MB sized pack. Next to typical island scenery,some remakes of singleplayer levels and indoor areas a reproduction of a well known map by ID software is included as well to have hours and hours of fun!

The new ESL 2on2 Assault league is going at full speed which lead the whole team to fix some bugs that appeared and release the "2on2 Tournament Map Pack v1.1". Next to bug fixing also the gameplay of some maps has been greatly improved. As bonus 5 brandnew 2on2 maps are included as well to increase the variety on matches! In case you have v1.0 installed on your machine just install the 140MB sized map pack over with - all maps are getting replaced and updated automatically. Rock on!
As a request of the Tournament-Team we are asking you, the community, to be a part of the next Tournament Map Pack and contribute at least one tournament suitable map. Time frame is 4 weeks which means the deadline is 30th of June. Some easy guidlines you should consider when creating a map:
- Only Assault and TDM maps are considered
- Main focus on gameplay
- Assault: good playability for 5on5 teams
- TDM: good playability for 1on1 to 3on3 teams
- Authentic overall level design
You can either contribute an Assault or TDM map. Assault should be focused on 5on5 and TDM should vary from 1on1 to 3on3. Currently we are especially looking for cool and action loaded TDM maps. Please send your maps to cate@go4more.de with a short description. We will test all maps and give feedback. Have fun creating maps - we are looking forward to receive some pretty awesome contributions :)

Da die neue ESL 2on2 Assault Liga bereits in vollem Gange ist, hat sich das Team dazu entschlossen einige aufgetretene Bugs zu beheben und das "2on2 Tournament Map Pack v1.1" zu veröffentlichenNeben Bugfixes wurde auch das Gameplay einiger Maps erheblich verbessert. Als Bonus gibt es 5 brandneue 2on2 Maps die für noch mehr Abwechslung sorgen sollen! Falls ihr Version 1.0 installiert haben solltet, so könnt ihr einfach das 140MB große Map Pack darüber installieren - alle Maps werden automatisch geupdated und ersetzt. Rock on!
Desweiteren bietet das Tournament-Team euch die Möglichkeit an, Teil des nächsten Tournament Map Packs zu werden und mindestens eine Tournament fähige Map beizutragen. Der Zeitrahmen beträgt 4 Wochen was heißt, dass die Deadline am 30. Juni ist. Hier einige Grundregeln die ihr befolgen solltet:
- Nur Assault und TDM maps werden berücksichtigt
- Hauptaugenmerk auf Gameplay gerichtet
- Assault: Gute Spielbarkeit für 5on5 Teams
- TDM: Gute Spielbarkeit für 1on1 bis 3on3 Teams
- Authentisches Level Design
Ihr könnt entweder eine Assault oder TDM Map erstellen und uns zusenden. Assault sollte auf 5on5 Matches ausgerichtet sein, wobei TDM von 1on1 bis hin zu 3on3 variieren muss. Momentan suchen wir verstärkt nach coolen und action geladenen TDM Maps. Bitte sendet eure fertige MP Karte an cate@go4more.de inklusive einer kleinen Beschreibung. Wir werden dann alle Maps testen und euch Feedback geben. Viel Spaß beim Erstellen - wir sind gespannt auf einige beeindruckende Beiträge :)

Since CryForce Productions took over the work of the TDM Map from Fragger MT a lot of new features have been implemented. The new version called "MP_Deep v1.1" has been released as a mod since it includes multiplayer physics and even working multiplayer bots! Also a new sunshader has been added for better lighting. The original bot scripts are from Flameknight and have been adjusted to the settings of the maps. So far you only can add bots to team red or blue by pressing F4. For removing them you need to change the map. As a little extra a second map mp_camp is included in the mod as well. The 30MB sized mod is definitely worth a download for people who want to have some hot action versus bots. :)

Seitdem das Team der CryForce Productions die Arbeiten an der TDM Map von Fragger MT übernommen haben, wurden einige neues Features hinzugefügt. Die neue Version "MP_Deep v1.1" wurde als Mod veröffentlicht, da sie unter anderem Multiplayer Physik und sogar funktionierende Multiplayer Bots beinhaltet! Auch ein neuer Sunshader wurde eingesetzt der für bessere Lichtverhältnisse sorgt. Das original Script stammt von Flameknight und wurde den speziellen Einstellungen der Maps angepasst. Momentan ist es nur möglich neue Bots per Tastenkürzel F4 den Teams Blau oder Rot hinzuzufügen. Um die KI wieder los zu werden müsst ihr die Map wechseln. Als kleines Extra gibt eine zweite Map mp_camp auf der ihr spielen könnt. Die 30MB große Mod ist definitv einen Download wert für Leute die heiße Action gegen Bots mögen. :)

A new multiplayer map pack has found its way oversea to us. Built by the american side of the community the 132MB sized "American Map Pack v1.0" is available for download. Overall 12 multiplayer maps, all set in different environments, are included. From dense jungles over snowy hills to industry complexes, everything is available. Insgesamt 12 Multiplayer Maps, alle in unterschiedlichen Szenarien gehalten, sind enthalten. Vom dichten Jungel über verschneite Berge bis hin zum Industriekomplex ist alles vertreten. Today we want to introduce two new singleplayer experiences to you. The first one is called "Fueltank Mod v1.0" and has been created by short_Y. In the beginning you will spawn without any weapon. So your first goal is to get a shooting iron and then you need to clear out a mercenary outpost. After that you'll have to make your way towards a fueltank that needs to be destroyed in the end. On the way towards the main mission objective you should look out for the secret places hidden overall on the map!
In the second map, which is called "Sewers" and was created by Sniper, the player is a member of the special forces delta team. After the player has infiltrated the sewer system of an enemy bunker he needs to paralyze the whole complex so that his team mates can successfully accomplish their planned invasion. Next to the main gas line that supplies the whole bunker two power generators need to be destroyed. The main mission objective is to shut down the reactor core. During these missions the player can expect nice bunker complexes and sewer systems combined with exciting gun battles and a nice flair!

Gleich zwei neue Singleplayer Erfahrungen möchten wir euch heute vorstellen. Bei der Ersten handelt es sich um die "Fueltank Mod v1.0" von short_Y. In diesem Singleplayer Level startet ihr zu beginn ohne jegliche Waffe. Euer erstes Ziel ist natürlich erstmal ein Schießeisen zu besorgen und danach in einem kleinen Mercenarie-Aussenposten aufzuräumen. Danach gehts weiter zum Fueltank der dann am Ende auch zerstört werden muss. Auf dem Weg dort hin gibt es zahlreiche versteckte Plätze zu entdecken die ihr euch nicht entgehen lassen solltet!
In der zweiten Map, die "Sewers" heisst und von Sniper stammt, ist der Spieler Mitglied des Delta Teams einer Spezialeinheit. Nachdem der Spieler in das Abwassersystem eines gegnerischen Bunkers eingeschleust worden ist, muss er den kompletten Trakt lahm legen damit seine Teamkameraden die geplante Invasion erfolgreich durchführen können. So muss neben der Hauptgasleitung auch noch zwei Energiegeneratoren zerstört werden. Das Hauptziel is es jedoch den Reaktorkern herunter zu fahren. Auf diesen Missionen erwarten den Spieler schöne Bunkerkomplexe und Kanalsysteme, kombiniert mit spannenden Kämpfen und ein klasse Flair!

In the beginning there was the idea of a faster Assault with even more action. Meanwhile the idea turned into a real new gamemode for Far Cry. It is called 2on2 Assault and practically it's the little, but a lot faster, brother of the original Assault mode. Due to good elaboration of the rules and exact definition of the gamemode itself the ESL (www.esl-europe.net) founded a 2on2 Assault league. Therein 2 teams with each 2 players can fight for the 2 existing flags on a map. The spawntimes are reduced to 8 seconds, the normal maptime is 10 minutes. Practically you can call it a kind of fast Assault that can be played with less effort and team organisation.
Of course you need the relevant tournament maps which have been released as "2on2 Tournament Map Pack v1.0". During development of the overall 11 Assault maps tournament capability, playability and variety have been emphasised. Jungle, desert and urban settings certainly can not be left out. But also extraordinary maps kept in toon or battlefield style are included as well. For all of you who want to try a new and refreshening gamemode, or get a whiff of league air, the 77MB sized Map Pack is the right choice. Also for LAN parties this packs a lot of fun, promised!

Am Anfang war eine Idee über ein schnelleres und actionlastigeres Assault. Mittlerweile ist aus der Idee ein handfester neuer Gamemode für Far Cry geworden. Er nennt sich 2on2 Assault und ist praktisch der kleine, aber um einiges flottere, Bruder des originalen Assault Modes. Durch gute Regelausarbeitung und exakte Definition des Gamemodes wurde eine 2on2 Assault Liga in der ESL (www.esl-europe.net) gegründet. Darin können sich jeweils 2 Teams, bestehend aus 2 Mann, um die immer nur 2 vorhandenen Flaggen auf einer Map bekämpfen. Die Spawnzeiten sind auf 8 Sekunden reduziert, die normale Maptime beträgt 10 Minuten. Man kann praktisch von einer Art Fast-Assault reden in der mit wenig Aufwand und Teamorganisation gespielt werden kann.
Dazu benötigt man natürlich auch entsprechende Turnier-Maps welche nun als "2on2 Tournament Map Pack v1.0" veröffentlicht wurden. Bei der Entwicklung der insgesamt 11 Assault-Karten wurde großer Wert auf Turniertauglichkeit, Spielbarkeit und Abwechslung gelegt. Jungle-, Wüsten- und Urban-Szenarios dürfen natürlich nicht fehlen. Allerdings gibt es auch eher aussergewöhnliche Maps die z.B. im Toon-Style gehalten sind oder ein großes Schlachtfeld simulieren. Für alle die einmal einen neuen und frischen Gamemode ausprobieren wollen, oder einmal frische Liga-Luft schnuppern möchten, ist das 77MB große Map Pack die richtige Wahl. Selbst zwischendurch für LAN-Parties bringt das Ganze riesen Spaß mit sich, versprochen!

Der Grund für Clivey's Geistesblitz eine DeathMatch Map namens "mp_Toontown" zu erstellen hat er wohl den tieferen Gründen mehrerer Flaschen hochprozentigem zu verdanken ;) Nichtsdestotrotz ist diese 7.5MB große Karte erfrischend anders und zeigt den Multiplayer-Part aus neuer Perspektive. Seinem Anti-Jungle-Konzept haben wir es zu verdanken, dass diese im Toon-Stil gehaltene Multiplayer Map erstellt wurde. Für alle Bastler gibt es die .cry-Datei mit dazu. Auf vielfachem Wunsch hat er neben den Standard-Häusern auch noch einige nette Gimmicks wie z.B. eine Leiter, ein Auto, übergroße Pilze und Bäume und vieles mehr erstellt und ein ca 4MB großes "Cartoon Models Package" daraus gemacht. Natürlich entspricht alles dem etwas schrägen Toon-Stil. Als Extra gibt es noch eine "mp_toondeathmatch" von [00]C4Te die auf Clivey's Map basiert. Desweiteren wird an einer 2on2-Assault Version gearbeitet die im kommenden Map Pack enthalten sein soll.

The reason for Clivey's brainstorm of creating a deathmatch map named "mp_Toontown" probably has its origin in the deeper sences of several bottles of hard liquor ;) None the less this 7.5MB sized map is pretty refreshening and offers another point of view about the multiplayer part. Thanks to his anti-jungle-campaign the whole map was created in this new toon style. For all level designers even the .cry-file is provided. By the request of many people he created lots of small objects like ladders, cars, oversized mushrooms and trees and lots of other things and packed them all up in a 4MB sized "Cartoon Models Package". Of course everything is being held in the typical slopy toon style. As an extra there is another "mp_toondeathmatch" created by [00]C4Te which is based on Clivey's map. Furthermore a 2on2-Assault version is in progress and will be included in the upcoming Map Pack.

The brand new version of the "Far Cry Linux Dedicated Server v1.33" is available now! Approved by Crytek and UbiSoft it will fix the continuously crashing issue on several Linux distributions. Furthermore some minor bugs have been fixed and also the stability has been improved a bit more. You can download the 9MB sized version from one of the links below.
For all of those who are new to the Linux Dedicated Servers and/or have questions how to set it up correctly Slugworth has created an excellent manual which explains everything step by step - including PunkBuster support, start scripts and much more! It is a must read for everyone out there who wants to know more about the possibilities of the server.

Whoever wants to put his hands on a good Singleplayer Map can download the free available Map "Mischief in Paradise" and modify it to his own wishes. Due to lack of time the developer kosmatka stopped working and leaves all necessary files to the community. All he wants to have is getting credit of his work if the stuff is going to be used. In general the map consists of lush jungle terrain, nifty sand beaches, rock lined coasts and of course the complete arsenal of Krieger's army. Custom sound elements provide an even more intense feeling. If you want to continue with the original story of the level there is plenty of assets the designer is willing to share with you. Just send him an email (nurbs@enteract.com) and ask for the stuff. The 27MB are definitely worth a download for every singleplayer hobbyist. Additionally there is an extra 10MB sized .cry-file reflecting the very recent status of the map.

Wer gerne selbst einmal Hand an eine wirklich gute Singleplayer Map anlegen möchte kann sich die zum Download freigegebene Karte "Mischief in Paradise" herunterladen und modifizieren. Aus Zeitgrunden hat der Entwickler kosmatka die Arbeiten gestoppt und überlässt alle notwendigen Dateien der Community. Allerdings möchte er gerne in den Credits genannt werden falls die Map irgendwo Verwendung finden sollte. Generell besteht die Map aus üppigem Jungle-Terrain, schönen Sandstränden, felsige Küsten und natürlich dem kompletten Arsenal an Krieger's Armee. Custom Sound Elemente geben dem Ganzen ein noch intensiveres Gefühl. Wenn ihr gerne auf der Story des Levels aufbauen möchtet, hat der Designer auch noch einige Assets übrig die ihr auf email-Anfrage (nurbs@enteract.com) zugeschickt bekommt! Für jeden Singleplayer-Bastler lohnt sich der knapp 27MB große Download auf jedenfall. Zusätzlich gibt es extra noch eine 10MB große .cry-File die den allerletzten Stand der Map widerspiegelt.

Within the last few weeks a lot has been created, tested and scripted and in cooperation between [SIG] rubin, +SG+ NoMaxx and theGhost2006 the "eXcaliTrone Expansion Pack" for Far Cry arose. In general you can say that it is an expansion pack updating the multiplayer part with missing and very useful features. In detail it is a very sophisticated system that eases a gamer's and admin's everyday life a lot! Following features are included:
- Map upgrade system (automatic)
- Extented serverlist (filtersystem, online server counter, favourites list)
- User panel for mp players (voting system, server information, player detection)
- Admin panel (easy login interface and administration system, admin panel)
In addition the map upgrade system is running on an especially for this purpose set up DNS root server and the whole system is being administrated by qualified personnel to keep it up-to-date to always provide the players the very latest maps. It allows a comfortable map download without the necessity of unpacking files.
The user panel is an ingame interface that can be opened by a freely customizable key. It includes, as already mentioned above, a voting system as well as information about the server and player detection. The admin panel, which can be opened by a customizable key as well, includes all necessary information and settings to administrate a server.
To add even more detailed settings to the whole thing an eXcaliTrone SSM (Server-Side-Mod) has been developed as well that admins can run on their servers.
Note: One thing needs to be said about the whole tool. While installing it on your client machine there is a new pak file being added to the FCData folder. This file won't be detected as cheat by one of the over 30 servers that have the new pb config running already, but if you play on another server it is recommended to temporarily remove this file from your folder to avoid unnecessary kicks.

Die letzten Wochen und Monate wurde eifrig gebastelt, getestet und gescripted und in Zusammenarbeit von [SIG] rubin, +SG+ NoMaxx und theGhost2006 enstand das "eXcaliTrone Expansion Pack" für Far Cry. Generell kann man sagen, dass es ein Erweiterungs-Pack für den Multiplayer ist und ihn um, bislang fehlende, sehr nützliche Features ergänzt. Doch im Detail verbirgt sich ein ausgeklügeltes System, welches den Spielern und Server-Admins den Spieleralltag ziemlich erleichtert und komfortabler macht! Zu den Features gehören folgende Überpunkte:
- Map Upgrade System (komplett automatisch)
- Erweiterte Serverliste (Filtersystem, Online-Server Zähler, Favoriten-Liste)
- User-Panel für MP-Spieler (Voting System, Serverinfos, Playerdetection)
- Admin-Panel (komfortables Anmelde-Interface und Verwaltungs-System, Admin-Menü)
Darüber hinaus läuft das Map Upgrade System über einen eigens dafür angeschafften DNS-Root-Server, wobei das komplette System von ausgewähltem Fachpersonal überprüft und up-to-date gehalten wird, damit die Spieler immer die allerneuesten Maps herunterladen können. Das ermöglicht einen komfortablen Map-Download ohne dabei gepackte Dateien entpacken zu müssen.
Das User-Panel ist ein Ingame-Interface welches sich per frei belegbare Taste öffnen lässt. Es enthält, wie oben schon erwähnt, ein Voting-System sowie einige Informationen über den Server inklusive Player-Detection. Das Admin-Panel, das auch per frei belegbarer Taste geöffnet wird, enthält sämtliche nützliche Informationen und Einstellungsmöglichkeiten um den Server zu verwalten.
Damit man das Ganze noch detailierter einstellen und seinen Wünschen anpassen kann, wurde auch eine eXcaliTrone SSM (Server-Side-Mod) erstellt, die Admins auf ihren Servern laufen lassen können.
Note: Zu dem Ganzen muss aber gesagt werden, dass bei der Installation des Tools auf euren Client-Rechnern eine neue pak-File in FCData kopiert wird. Diese wird von den mitlerweile knapp 30 Clan-Servern die bei dem Projekt mitwirken nichtmehr als Cheat erkannt. Falls ihr jedoch auf einem Server spielt der die neue PB-Config noch nicht hat, ist es zu empfehlen die Datei temporär aus eurem FCData-Verzeichnis herauszunehmen.

A new version of eu_gorge is available that removes the crash bug from version 1.1 of the "European Assault Map Pack v1.1". Already a few days ago announced by -BM- in our forums you now can download the "Far Cry Server-Farm Tool RC1.0". This 360KB sized tool allows you to administrate Far Cry servers easily and without the necessity of starting the game and connecting to the server itself. The handling is quite simple since all rcon commands do work and also mapchange and/or player kick can be done by only a few mouse clicks. It is recommended to go through the manual before using this tool since all features and how to set it up correctly are explained in detail there. The new version is already in development and will include many new features but for now here are the current functions::
- All RCon commands can be used
- Players can be kicked or banned with only two mouse clicks
- Server restart, mapchange or starting a profile can be done with two mouse clicks as well

Bereits schon vor ein paar Tagen von -BM- in unseren Foren bekannt gegeben, könnt ihr jetzt das "Far Cry Server-Farm Tool RC1.0" herunterladen. Das 360KB große Tool erlaubt euch eine einfache Far Cry Server Administration ohne das ihr das Spiel selbst überhaupt starten müsst. Die Handhabung ist sehr einfach gehalten, so funktionieren z.B. alle RCon Commands problemlos und auch Mapchange und/oder das Kicken von Spielern kann mit nur wenigen Mausklicks erledigt werden. Vor der Benutzung ist es auf jedenfall notwendig, dass ihr das Manual lest, da es alle Einzelheiten und wie man das Tool richtig einstellt ganz genau Erklärt. Bereits jetzt wird schon an einer neuen Version mit noch mehr Features gearbeitet, doch hier erstmal die momentanen Funktionen:

After several months of getting feedback, improving and adjusting maps the team around -=UBW=- Achilles finally released their "European Assault Map Pack v1.1". Next to a lot of bug fixes this patch addresses a greatly improved gameplay on some maps. The map counter has been increased to 10 since 2 brandnew maps in city and graveyard style have been added to the pack. The 140MB sized install file is definitely worth a download for everyone who wants to play some great maps! Feedback and bug reports are welcome and should be posted in the respective thread. A new awesome package has been created by Clivey - at this time it is called the "Urban Models Pack" and will blend in perfectly with his already released City and Graveyard Model Packs. This ensures that you can build up a whole city with all these models without any texturing interferences. The models are for free use and feedback in the thread is welcome! Once the EU-MapPack update is available he will release the .cry file for the eu_streets map you can see on the pictures below. But now to the features of this urban style pack::

A little masterpiece has been created by one of our very committed community members. Michael, better known as mnewcomb, has managed to code a Multiplayer Voice MOD. In general it means you don't need any external voice tools when you want to talk ingame. This small mod allows you by pressing the submition key to directly talk to your mates, but be carefully - in a radius of 30 meters you will be heard by the enemy as well! He is already working on a new version including more options and bug fixes. If you have any suggestions what to improve or what definitely should be added to this awesome mod feel free to respond to his thread in our forums. The 500KB small download can be found further below - clan players definitely should have a look at it.

Schon jetzt wird weiter an einer neuen Version gearbeitet die neben Bug fixes auch einige neue Optionen beinhaltet. Wenn ihr Vorschläge habt was man verbessern oder was man unbedingt hinzufügen müsste, dann schreibt eure Ideen einfach in seinen Thread in unserem Forum. The patch 1.1 of the well known "Obsidian Edge Mod" is still in development, but the community wanted to have some new content to play with. So three big fans of the mod decided to create a Domination Custom Map Pack. Due to the mods' awesome customizability every designer can create a unique gameplay experience based on the strutcure and style of the map. The basic style of the 13 included maps is called single-flag Domination and is similar to King-Of-The-Hill, but also the classic Last Man Standing mode has been added. Contrary to the standard OE maps which are quite big, the guys attended to keep all maps small for fast action from one-on-one to eight-on-eight gameplay. This offers a whole new dimension of furios action and tension to the Far Cry/Obsidian Edge experience. The pack is about 50MB in size and absolutely worth a download!

Der Patch 1.1 der bekannten "Obsidian Edge Mod" lässt noch etwas auf sich warten, doch die Community wollte etwas neues mit dem sie sich beschäftigen können. Deshalb entschlossen sich kurzerhand drei sehr große Fans der Mod dazu, ein Domination Custom Map Pack zu erstellen. Durch die enorme Individualisierungsmöglichkeit der Mod, hat jeder Designer die Chance eine einzigartige Spielerfahrung basierend auf der Struktur und dem Stil der Map zu erstellen. Der Standard Spielmodus der insgesamt 13 enthaltenen Maps wird Single-Flag Domination genannt, welcher ähnlich dem King-Of-The-Hill Modus ist, aber auch Last Man Standing wurde hinzugefügt. Im Gegensatz zu den teils sehr großen Standard OE Maps, wurde bei allen Karten auf die Spielbarkeit von Eins-gegen-Eins bis hin zu Acht-gegen-Acht geachtet. Dies eröffnet eine neue Dimension der schnellen Action und Intensität für die Far Cry/Obsidian Edge Erfahrung. Das Pack ist ca 50MB groß und auf jedenfall einen Download Wert!

Because of the ClanBase Fall Cup and lots of feedback we received about the "Tournament MapPack 1.3" we decided to release an update for it. A lot of clans appreciated the new mp_to_ruins, but also a lot of them weren't pretty happy about the changes we have done. So we included the old version as mp_to_ruins from the mappack 1.2 and also the new version which is now named mp_to_ruins_v2. Furthermore several bug fixes have been done which improve the gameplay even more. A complete changelog can be found further below. As usual we created 2 installers. One is the 160MB sized update from 1.3 to 1.3.1. The other one is a full 1.3.1 version including all maps from 1.3 and 1.2 with 290MB in size.

20 Maps - chosen carefully - FFA/TDM and Assault modes - created in corporation with [00]-Clan - given the name "Tournament MapPack v1.3".
Finally it is out, the new version of our map pack for tournaments. Next to numerous bugfixes, improvements and gameplay optimizations also 4 new maps are introduced. Thereby it is about two FFA/TDM maps created in temple style on a small island and two Assault maps. One is a reworked version of the popular mp_Jungle including some balancing changes like replacing the 1st flag. The other one is new and comes along with a lot of innovative ideas which guarantees diversive matches. Overall 2 different versions of the mappack are available. The first one is a 180MB sized update from v1.2 to v1.3 which only includes the new and updated maps. The second one is a 260MB sized full version 1.3 which includes the new and updated maps as well as the old ones of v1.2. Currently the [00]-Clan is hosting a server with the Assault maps and the TDM maps can be played on a dedicated server hosted by Crytek. Have fun and enjoy the new pack! Endlich ist es fertig, die neue Version unseres Map Packs für Tournaments. Neben zahllosen Bugfixes, Verschönerungen und Gameplay-Optimierungen werden auch 4 neue Maps mit vorgestellt. Dabei handelt es sich um zwei FFA/TDM Maps im Tempel-Stil auf einer kleinen Insel und zwei Assault Maps. Eine davon ist eine aufbereitet Version von der bliebten Map mp_Jungle, bei der diverse Balancing-Änderungen wie z.b. das Versetzen der 1. Flagge vorgenommen wurden. Die andere ist eine neue Map, die viele innovative Ideen beinhaltet und für Abwechslung bei den Matches sorgt. Ingesamt sind 2 Versionen des MapPacks verfügbar. Zum Einen ein 180MB großes Update von v1.2 auf v1.3 welches nur die neuen und überarbeiteten Maps beinhaltet. Und zum Anderen die 260MB große Vollversion 1.3 welche sowohl die neuen und überarbeiteten Maps als auch die alten Maps aus Version 1.2 beinhaltet. Since a few hours the new "Unofficial Far Cry Custom MapPack #3" is available for download. Under the lead of L3d_Zep and Destroyer the pack has been created and includes 14 Assault and FFA Maps. All Maps have been chosen wisely and were tested for gameplay very intensively. Among them you also can find gems like mp_hightide or mp_metro. The level design varies from indoor maps like warehouses over jungle style and sandy dunes to a trashy industrial complex. You definitely won't get bored with this kind of assortment! Seit ein paar Stunden steht das neue "Unofficial Far Cry Custom MapPack #3" zum Download bereit. Unter der Leitung von L3d_Zep und Destroyer enstand das Pack welches 14 Assault und FFA Maps enhält. Alle Karten wurden sorgfältigt ausgewählt und intensiven Gameplay-Tests unterzogen. Unter ihnen findet man auch kleine Schmuckstücke wie mp_hightide oder mp_metro. Das Level Design ist sehr abwechslungsreich und reicht von Indoor Maps wie z.B. Lagerhallen über Dschungle-Style und sandigen Dünen bis hin zum trashigen Industriegebiet. Langweilig wird einem bei der Auswahl wohl kaum werden! Der knapp über 100MB große Download lohtn sich auf jeden Fall und bringt eine Menge Spass mit sich!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to get some more info about the multiplayer mod "Far Cry Sports". Meanwhile the developer team joined the CryForce Entertainment and so can count on more support. The work on the overall 15 planned maps is proceeding quite well. Next to the already known settings like jungle or island the players have to face sand storms and tropical rain as well. The developer wants to add 4 gamemodes (Stunt, Drag, Race & LCS), but no further information about them is available at the moment. Also the vehicles you can race with in the mod are not announced and stay secret for now. Instead of releasing an alpha or beta version the team is fully concentrating on the final release which is planned for spring 2006. As a small demonstration what kind of new features will be included next to the many maps there is a 11MB sized video for download. It shows a pre-version of the Race-Blur-Effect which adjusts to the speed and should create a more realistic feeling of driving.

Gestern ergab sich die nette Gelegenheit etwas mehr über die Multiplayer Mod "Far Cry Sports" in Erfahrung zu bringen. Mitlerweile hat sich das Entwickler-Team CryForce Entertainment angeschlossen und darf sich somit über mehr Unterstützung freuen. Die Arbeiten an den bisher insgesamt 15 geplanten Maps gehen gut vorran. Neben den bereits bekannten Szenarien wie Dschungel oder Inseln werden die Spieler auch gegen Sandstürme und tropische Regenfälle kämpfen müssen. Wenn es nach den Entwicklern geht, wird die Mod über 4 Spielmodi Verfügen (Stunt, Drag, Race & LCS). Was es genau mit den Modi auf sich hat wird derzeit noch nicht verraten. Auch welche Fahrzeuge alles vertreten sein werden ist derzeit noch geheim. Veröffentlichen möchte das Team keine Alpha oder Beta - sie konzentrieren sich lieber voll und ganz auf den Final Release der für Frühjahr 2006 geplant ist. Als kleine Demonstration was neben den vielen Maps sonst noch so an Features geplant ist, gibt es ein 11MB grosses Video zum herunterladen. Dieses zeigt eine vorab Version des Race-Blur-Effekts, der sich der Geschwindigkeit anpasst und somit für ein realistischeres Fahrgefühl sorgen soll.

The multiplayer balancing mod "ProjectX" for FarCry has been released in version 2.7. The TK punish/kill system has been redone and now works properly. Besides that all neccessary files for hosting an own server are included as well. The mod is already running on one RayneServ server (new IP: 70.85.56.59). Already a few days ago "molleman" from CryMod.com forums presented the new "Enhanced DCL 0.1" developed by him. It is based on the already well known DCL by "aarbro" which combines several mod and addons and make them available in one map at the same time. He added the weapon support to this DCL and gave it an updated name. Furthermore he created 2 pretty cool weapon packs which are fully compatible to the new EDCL. One includes Price's weapons of his Shens Coop mod and the other one is assorted by weapons of the Freestyle-Productions team.

Schon vor ein paar Tagen hat "molleman" aus dem CryMod.com Forum sein neue entwickeltes "Enhanced DCL 0.1" präsentiert. - This patch supports 32 bit only.
- This patch will update versions 1.31 and 1.32 to Far Cry 1.33.
- Far Cry patch 1.33 contains all the fixes found in 1.32.
- Fixed issue with extended characters in players names causing server crashes.
- Included version checking so that only 1.33 clients can connect to 1.33 servers.
- Resolved some online cheating issues.
For all server administrators one important message! If you don't have the possibility to install the patch directly on the server you just need to upload the to patch 1.33 updated complete bin32 folder and the new SCRIPTS.pak (can be found in FCData).

Gerade wurde ein neuer Patch (auf Version 1.32) für die FarCry 32 Bit Version veröffentlicht, der einige technische Probleme beseitigt. Hier der komplette Changelog im Überblick:

Ersteinmal möchte ich mich für die kleine Newsflaute entschuldigen. Zur Zeit bin ich ziemlich mit meiner Abschlussarbeit beschäftigt, die jedoch am Ende der Woche abgeschlossen ist :)
Nun aber zu den wirklichen News - Matto ist endlich wieder da mit seiner brandneuen Mod "Matto3"! Das warten hat sich gelohnt, denn diese Map ist wieder einmal eine geniale Offenbarung was man selbst in einem kleinen Team und FarCry noch so alles machen kann. Zunächst wäre zu nennen das die Map wieder ähnlich angenehm lang ist wie Matto2. Zudem enthält die Mod diesmal zwei neue Waffen. Die Glock mit ihren „3 round burst“ und eine modifizierte Walter P99 mit Schalldämpfer und Zielfernrohr machen einfach riesig Spaß. Wie wir es gewohnt sind ist der Level wieder voll mit kleinen Anspielungen zu anderen Spielen und hebt sich durch seinen Humor erfrischend von den Standard Singleplayer Maps ab. Das ist natürlich noch nicht alles. Neue Sounds, Objekte, Musik, Videos und Scriptspielerein machen aus matto3 eine gänzlich neue FarCry Erfahrung.
Durch die Größe der Map ist die Ladezeit sehr lang, außer man hat genug RAM. Ansonsten gibt es kaum nennenswerte technische Probleme. Sie ist eindeutig die neue Referenz in Sachen FarCry Fan Singleplayer Maps und auf jedenfall die 60MB download Wert! Spielt die Map auf jedenfall bis zum Ende und schaut in jede noch so kleine Ecke, ihr werdet es nicht bereuen ;)

Most of you know the first map pack being released for FarCry. Now the "Unofficial Far Cry Custom Map Pack 2" has been released in a new version. Around 21 maps (15 Assault, 6 FFA/TDM) are included and as a little bonus the Tacto v1.5 mod has been added to that pack, too. As a bonus, this map pack includes the most recent version of the Tacto mod. After you complete the installation of this map pack, you will be given the option to install the Tacto mod for Far Cry.
The Pack has a size of 160MB and needs 300MB on your harddrive. At the end of the installation you get asked whether to install the Tacto mod or not. The mod is playable with all current Assault maps. The map pack will be played on most of the ubi server that should be updated within this week.

Ursula from the well known Freestyle-Productions who already created the Hippy Buggy is now working on a new quad vehicle (ATV). The modeling part has been finished and the textures are currently in work. Only the driver animation is a problem that yet has to be solved, but the release is planned within the next weeks. Without much furore, there's a new Patch for Far Cry released. This Patch (FarCry Patch v1.31) fixes the "Sway Exploit" bug that allowed different players to have less recoil when aiming with their weapon.
Ohne viel Aufsehen, wurde ein neuer Patch für Far Cry released. Dieser Patch (FarCry Patch v1.31) behebt das "Sway Exploit" Problem, bei dem verschiedene Spieler weniger Zielkreuz-Bewegungen beim Zielen hatten.

Quite recently an update of the unofficial FarCry Custom Map Pack (former known as unofficial UbiSoft Map Pack) has ben released. Besides a lot of revised maps they also fixed slight problems with the Installer and put in 4 brand new maps. The pack now can be played on the official UbiSoft server and so is definately worth a download. If you already got the first version of it, you just need to download the update with 66MB. This is an incredible piece of work, with a great attention to detail, and plenty of action. While this is still in Beta and not a final release it is nearly of the quality of the Stock FarCry maps.
SP Missile_Attack is available from the Single Player section of the Download-Area, at FarCry Canada or here at CryLand.com. This map is a sequel to the Devil's_Coast map [developed by the same Author]. Devil's Coast is also being reworked to match the atmosphere and style of this latest creation so we will be looking soon to re-release the reworked version of that map as well.

We at FarCry Canada Resources have a bit of news for you.
Lance aka Bold_one has released for public Beta testing his latest creation for Single Player FarCry action SP Missile Attack STOP THE LAUNCH! Ver 1.16Beta. This is an incredible piece of work, with a great attention to detail, and plenty of action. While this is still in Beta and not a final release it is nearly of the quality of the Stock FarCry maps.

In corporation with the FarCry clan [00], Ben Bauer and Michael "Kolly" Kolkau created 4 Assault maps in their sparetime for an inofficial Tournament Mappack. This pack includes about 12 Multiplayer Maps (8 Assault and 4 TDM/FFA). The other ones have been taken from the community in agreement with the guys from [00] clan to ensure the high standard of the pack. We totally concentrated on well balanced gameplay and new innovations. You can find the download link of the 190MB big sized Mappack, some screenshots of the maps from Ben and Michael and a whole maplist beneath. To install the mappack doubleclick on the downloaded EXE file, choose your FarCry root folder and click on "install".

In Zusammenarbeit mit dem FarCry Clan [00] haben Ben Bauer und Michael "Kolly" Kolkau in ihrer Freizeit 4 Assault Maps für ein inoffizielles Tournament Mappack erstellt. Dieses Pack beinhaltet ganze 12 Multiplayer Karten (8 Assault und 4 TDM/FFA). Die anderen Karten wurden, in Übereinstimmung mit dem [00]-Clan, sorgfältig aus der Community ausgewählt um den hohen Standard des Packs zu sichern. Wir konzentrierten uns völlig auf gut balanciertes Gameplay und neue Innovationen. Ihr könnt den 190MB großen Download, einige Screenshots der Maps von Ben und Michael und die ganze Mapliste weiter unten finden. Um das Mappack zu installieren klickt ihr doppelt auf die heruntergeladene EXE-Datei, wählt einfach euer FarCry Stammverzeichnis aus und klickt auf "install".

Now I have finished my ([4thD]WarpSpeed) MP_ActionBay Version 1.0 Map/Level for the FarCry Mehrspieler Mode.
This is a map for the FFA (Free For All) & TDM (Team DeathMatch) Mode of Far Cry. Tested with the english/german Version 1.1 of FarCry.
This map is optimized for min. 10 - 32 Players. Of course it's a big map but you always have a good overview and it's very fast (no Lags). There're enough weapons (every weapon min. 2 times), Armory, Health and Vehicles. Give the map 30 minutes before you "vote" about it/her. There're some, sometimes hidden "Gimmicks" to explore/find ;-).

Endlich ist sie fertig... meine ([4thD]WarpSpeed) MP_ActionBay Version 1.0 Map/Level für den FarCry Mehrspieler Modus.
Dies ist eine Map für den FFA (Frei Für Alle) & TDM (Team DeathMatch) Modus von Far Cry. Getestet mit der deutschen/englischen Version 1.1 von FarCry.
Die Map ist optimiert für mindestens 10 bis 32 Spieler. Sie ist zwar recht gross und weitläufig, ist aber trotzdem übersichtlich und vor allem schnell (ruckelt nicht/keine Lags). Es gibt ausreichend Waffen (jede mind. zweimal), Rüstungen, Hilfepäckchen und Fortbewegungsmittel. Nehmt euch die Zeit und schaut sie euch 30 Minuten an, bevor ihr eure "Meinung" abgebt. Es gibt einige, teilweise versteckte Gimmicks zu "entdecken" ;-).

Gameplay changes

Zwar gibt es den Patch auf FarCry Version 1.2 noch nicht aber das "ChangeLog" ist mittlerweile veröffentlicht worden. Was man da liest hört sich sehr vielversprechend an.

Mit dem Ragdoll Patch/Fix koennt Ihr die sogenannte Ragdoll-Zensierung bei der deutschen
